We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Writer to lead external documentation efforts for Atlan’s new Platform as a Service (PaaS) offering. This role is instrumental in equipping developers, Systems Integrators (SIs), and partners with the resources they need to effectively integrate and extend our PaaS product.

As a Senior Technical Writer at Atlan, you’ll be working closely with cross-functional teams, including Product, Engineering, and Customer Success, to create API documentation, SDK guides, and onboarding materials that enhance developer enablement and support integration efforts.

🌏 This is a remote, full-time role and can be held anywhere in the world. We’re fully remote since 2020, and our team is spread out across time zones.
What Will You Do?
  • Define, Author and Evolve a Critical Content Strategy: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for Atlan’s PaaS offerings, including SDKs, CLI tools, and platform-specific extensions. Provide sample code, best practices, and troubleshooting content aimed at helping developers extend product functionality.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Act as a bridge between product and engineering teams, capturing key problem statements and ensuring documentation addresses the needs of both internal and external users.
  • Persona-Driven Content: Engage with user research, product and engineering teams to understand the needs of SIs, customers, and partners, and create documentation that aligns with these personas, enhancing their ability to leverage Atlan’s PaaS solutions effectively.
  • Strategic Alignment: Ensure all documentation aligns with Atlan’s overall product strategy and supports the product vision, delivering content that empowers users and strengthens platform adoption.

What makes You a Match?
  • Experience: 5+ years of technical writing experience, with a strong focus on platform-as-a-service (PaaS) products or developer-oriented documentation (e.g., Salesforce, ServiceNow).
  • Technical Skills: Proven experience in creating and managing documentation for complex APIs, SDKs, and developer tools within enterprise environments, particularly for third-party developers.
  • Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of the B2B SaaS landscape, with familiarity in the modern data stack (e.g., Snowflake, Databricks) and experience working within platform as a service ecosystems.
  • Future-Oriented: Ability to proactively identify documentation needs based on ongoing engineering projects, rather than waiting for fully developed features.

What you will get ⚽
  • Define the Documentation Vision: You’ll have the autonomy to shape the documentation landscape, defining best practices that will influence our developer community’s experience.
  • High Growth Opportunity: Join a rapidly growing company where the role’s scope can expand with your ambitions, providing you with the autonomy to innovate and grow.
  • Collaborative Culture: Work alongside talented, driven, and humble professionals, all dedicated to creating top-notch experiences for data teams worldwide.
  • Work from Anywhere: Enjoy the flexibility and freedom to work remotely from any location around the globe.
