Job Description

Our workforce experience team is looking to add an Enterprise Cloud Engineer to this highly impactful team. This team focuses on the tools our employees use every day to serve our members. This role will focus on Amazon Connect which is used by three crucial internal teams that speak with our members and provider partners. You will focus on the enhancement of existing products, services and processes. Through collaboration with Cloud Engineers, Developers, Security and business stakeholders optimize code templates and patterns, security, automation, and system performance/availability. Ensure solutions developed adhere and align with overall architecture standards. Serve as a technical resource for other engineering staff, offshore support and project teams in the overall execution for assigned deliverables. Work cross- functionally with business stakeholders and technology resources in technical planning and system delivery. 

Qualifications

Preferred: 

  • Prior experience with AWS services and Amazon Connect (WFM, IVR platform) specifically  
  • MEAN Full Stack Development Experience 
  • Practical experience and background working with numerous cloud services, platforms or tools 
  • Ability to provide guidance to others 
  • Ability to provide innovative solutions to complex problems. 
  • Experience working in a Product centric organization / Experience with SAFe agile methodology or similar agile methodology 
  • Appropriate technical certifications relative to area of expertise 
  • Prior experience creating presentations and presenting to technical leaders 
  • Experience partnering with global staffing vendors to deliver project 


Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or direct and applicable work experience 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience with cloud and/or system administration. Including prior scripting and coding experience with specific experience with collaborating with Engineers, Security and Application Design/Run teams to ensure system design aligns to the architecture standards. Working knowledge of DevOps / CICD methodologies and tools 
  • Demonstrated experience with scripting / automation tools and concepts 
  • Proven experience with a variety of virtualization technologies in multi-tenant, private and hybrid cloud environments 
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with both internal and external team members for the process of defining IT Solution scope, business/system requirements, and writing/executing test cases 
  • Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to influence and drive change as well as adapt communication to your audience 
  • Proven and effective problem solving/trouble shooting skills to identify root cause for complex issues and innovative solutions with a high attention for detail 
  • Understand risk and how enterprise level changes impact an organization 
  • Ability to analyze and improve existing processes, implementing solutions and measuring impact 
  • Proactive in nature and someone that is naturally curious, inquisitive and willing to learn new skills 
  • Travel less than 5% 

Additional Information


a. Serve as an escalation point for an Engineer I regarding troubleshooting and issue resolution for applications or systems. Will work with Cloud Engineers, Developers, Security and other appropriate stakeholders as part of issue resolution. 



b. Recommend enhancements and leverage existing processes and patterns to build, test and install services and platforms to support overall stability; perform maintenance and upgrades as needed.  



c. Assist Cloud Engineers in planning and executing new services and platform implementation/deployments. Help coordinate installations, customization and maintenance of new services and platforms and interfaces with vendors as needed.  



d. Responsible for the technical enhancements for existing services and processes. Provide insights and direction regarding process optimization and improvements; including basic automation scripts to support and maintain a resilient and scalable cloud environment. As needed, assist with system support and maintenance. Be available to assist with on call escalation as needed.  



e. Ensure systems availability and performance. Inform leadership and/or Engineering peers of systems health and create incidents for remediation.  



f. Ensure adequate system capacity to support business functions. Will review and analyze patterns within systems to proactively inform leadership and/or Engineering peers of recommended changes as needed.   



g. Act as escalation point for offshore administration teams regarding technical design and cloud solution implementation, including review and quality assurance. 



h. Ensure team documentation (e.g. process, run-books, diagrams etc.) is kept up to date and accurate. Participate in peer reviews part of standard quality assurance practice. 



i. Maintain compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, licensing, governance, and contractual requirements by helping to establish and monitor effective processes and procedures. Stay up to date with technology policies and procedures, including updates for non-enterprise level systems, team processes and diagrams. 



j. Other duties as assigned.

Remote Eligible: You will have the flexibility to work where you are most productive. This position is eligible to work fully remote. Depending on your location, you may still have the option to come into a Wellmark office if you wish to. Your leader may ask you to come into the office occasionally for specific meetings or other ‘moments that matter’ as well.
