About the Role

Data is essential to our business, allowing us to drive the insights that inform critical decisions across the entire customer journey. With a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, you and your team will take charge of evolving the organisation’s data capabilities, working closely with department heads to empower us to better serve our customers.



What You’ll Do:

As the Head of Data at Nivoda, you will be responsible for defining and delivering the Data Engineering, Data Governance and Data Science roadmap to support the entire business, from revenue to operations. You will build and manage teams and work cross-functionally to implement the platforms and processes that keep us at the cutting edge. You have a strong track record of people management, business acumen, delivering and managing complex data environments along with building out the systems and tooling to deliver the highest value insights in order to empower key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Development: Craft and own the Data Engineering, Data Science and Data Governance roadmap, aligning high-priority projects with cross-functional partners while bolstering our data KPIs and dashboards.

  • Team Management: Lead a team of engineers and analysts, fostering collaboration with internal stakeholders to execute the strategy effectively. Ensure the effective use of data science methodologies and data engineering best practices.



  • Data Governance:  Implement and take forward our data governance strategy, pulling together stakeholders across the organisation to ensure the security and integrity of our data.

  • Strategic Planning: Develop both short and long-term strategies to enhance revenue growth and preserve overall platform value, translating insights into tangible action plans.

  • Operational Excellence: Spearhead the enhancement of operational tooling strategies  and vendor relationships to deliver impactful insights, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

  • Collaboration: Partner closely with product, operations, and revenue teams to help their analysts develop strategies aimed at improving user experience and overall marketplace performance.



Your qualifications and experience:
  • Proven track record in leading and managing diverse data teams, including data engineers, and analysts.

  • Demonstrated ability to drive a data strategy that aligns with business objectives.

  • Strong people management skills with a focus on fostering collaboration and professional development.

  • Deep knowledge of data engineering, data science and business intelligence tools and methodologies.



  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).

  • Knowledge of ML model frameworks, tuning, and productionisation.

  • Experience implementing data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance.

  • Ability to lead initiatives that safeguard data integrity and promote best practices across the organisation.


  • Strong project management skills, with a track record of delivering complex data projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality outcomes.

  • Bias toward action and ability to simplify complex problems, driving alignment, clarity, and execution on tight timelines.

  • Excellent communication skills to articulate data insights and influence decision-making.

  • Encourages a data-driven culture of innovation and learning.



Preferred Qualifications:
  • Leadership of previous data function, with strong stakeholder management

  • Management consulting, marketplace growth operations, or strategy work in a large business.
